Self-run Fortessa Training  

The Dana-Farber Flow Core offers self run analysis on 8 cell analyzers, with a staff of expert cytometry technicians to assist with your experiments. 
Please follow the workflow below to become a certified user of the core.

  • PLEASE NOTE:
    • THE CORE DOES NOT TRAIN RESEARCHERS WHO HAVE THEIR OWN INSTRUMENTS IN THEIR LAB.
    • The Core does not train summer students / interns as many labs are onboarding research staff at this time.
      • ​ You do not require analyzer training if your experiments require cell sorting.
        •  PLEASE COMPLETE STEPS 1 - 3 BELOW AND THEN THE CORE WILL BE IN CONTACT.
        • Researchers must have am ACTIVE Project code assigned to them to receive training.
1. Watch Video and Review Documents
  • The required training video will walk you through a complete single-color experiment on the Fortessa. 
    ​Policy review is also required.
2. Complete Quiz
3. Request to be trained
  • You must score a 100% on this quiz to use the self-run analyzers. Questions will be derived from the training video above, and the core policies page on the website.
  • Ensure that you have scored 100% on the quiz, an active ilabs account, and active project prior to placing a request to be trained.
  • If you have not completed the tasks above your request to be trained will be DELETED. ​
